This hotel desperately needs a refurb. My room was very tired and smelled stale. Wont be staying there again.

We found the hotel was pretty basic situated opposite Rickmansworth railway station it was noisy the room we had was overlooked by a carwash which was approximately 20metres away giving very little privacy, the washand basin in bathroom was the smallest possible, beds were comfortable.Rooms are approached through a maze of corriodors all very confusing. Breakfast is buffet style but not much selection. All in all we were dissappointed having stayed at other Old English Hotels this one does not match up.

The staff met us at a very late check in which was excellent. The location was superb for the Rickmansworth tube station & the general vibe of the hotel was excellent for our short stay to London shopping. My daughter also wants to comment on that the pillows were very "Squashy" !! We will use the hotel again, now we know where it is & the accommadation/service that we our to receive.
Even thought the room was clean & tidy & very accepatble for 1 night, I think the bathroom, could be improved in future refurbishments.

Very convenient for the event we went to and very comfortable bed. Convenience is the main attribute as the area is not exactly inspiring.
Location convenient for the station but on a busy corner.

As I was attending a 50th Birthday Party in Rickmansworth, The Long Island Hotel was the best value for money in the area, The Location is excellent for people travelling by train, The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service was good, .Apart from the smell of new carpet in the room and the water tank overflowing all night, I look forward to staying at the Long Island Hotel again.
The room smelt because it had a new carpet, this could of been avoided with by spraying the whole carpet with Oust or Firbreeze, The bed was very firm, An option of a Topper in the room would of helped, The water tank over flowed all night long, the constant sound of running water kept waking me up,
